Oops..

So Im already getting behind on this whole posting thing. Its already been a full week.. yikes! In my defense, it's been a busy one!
We spent most of the week unpacking, cleaning and doing laundry, and RE-packing for the weekend. That's typically how things go when we end up traveling several weekends in one month. Thankfully, Im done traveling for awhile.

The weekend ended up being really nice. Thomas and I left around 12:30 on Friday afternoon in order to make it to Allison's wedding on time. Luckily, we made it there with a little time to spare and we were able to dart (yes, I said dart) into the hotel and change quickly. We shared a room with our friends Carrie and Derek so we all rode to the wedding together. Unfortunately, I managed to get us a little turned around.. but we made it to the wedding before anyone walked down the aisle so thats always a plus!
The wedding was beautiful.  The weather was a little iffy, but luckily everything was inside. And it was actually pretty cool to hear the rain on the barn tin roof during the ceremony.

Saturday was a lazier than lazy day. We left the hotel, grabbed some chick-fil-a breakfast, and headed to Salisbury. We had plans of laying by the pool all day.. but the weather was still awful, so we just ended up sleeping all day instead. We did make it out for lunch at The Sidewalk Deli, but thats really it :)
I mean thats what weekends are for right? Catching up on sleep?
On Saturday night, Seth and my Dad ended up driving home from their motorcycle trip, and we all met at the local Mexican restaurant for food and margaritas.

On Sunday, Thomas and I left relatively early. We had lots to get done before starting the week back. And somehow, we managed to get everything done that we wanted to yesterday. Not only did we drive 4 hours, but we made a trip by Bass Pro (Thomas needed some fishing equipment and I needed a few pieces of clothing for the Alaska trip), we met the Italian girls for dinner (they are headed back home this week), AND we got some yard work done (mowing, weeding, and watering). Needless to say, we were pretty exhausted last night. It was probably a good thing that our satellite isn't working or I would've stayed up until 11 watching The Bachlorette!

This week will be an ok week. Thomas is out of town which is always tough because of my working hours and getting home for the dogs. But they'll manage :) Luckily, my Mom is coming to visit for the night on Wednesday to bring some furniture that she found for us at an estate sale. And Thomas will be coming back Thursday night, but then leaving AGAIN Friday afternoon to go on a weekend fishing trip with the guys. I'll definitely miss him, but luckily some of the wives are coming to see me here for the weekend! Im sure we'll find plenty of fun things to get into :)

Thats it for now. Gotta rest up for a few before the little one wakes up. I feel like I might be coming down with a cold.. yuck.

Oh Monday..

So it ended up being a really nice weekend. The shower was great on Saturday. Melissa got lots of nice/fun things. And of course she's got the cutest little pregnant belly. After the shower, Mary and I ran a few errands before meeting my Mom for a late dinner at The Salty Caper in Salisbury. Yuumm. Local pizza place with great beer.

On Sunday, we all went out to breakfast before I left town. And I also managed to meet up with my best buddy/childhood friend Jake for lunch on my way out of town.
The drive back was uneventful.. just boring with no husband and no dogs to keep me company. I was back by 4:30 though, so not too bad.

On Sunday night, we had some friends over for dinner (Bonnie and Gerry.. and little Paisley). They lived below us in the apartment. Needless to say, move out day in the apt for us didn't go as smoothly as we would of hoped. While Thomas was disconnecting the washer and dryer, a rusted water line burst and managed to flood their laundry room as well as ours. SO, we definitely owed them a dinner.. and probably a few more! It was nice seeing them though. We've missed seeing them since we're not in the apartment complex anymore.

Today is a typical Monday. Nothing eventful. There's just not much good about a Monday. It always means the start of another work week! Oh- and I did find out today from Jen that the realtor who called to show their home last Friday never showed (refer to "stress" posting). That would be our luck.

We're excited for this weekend! Allie is getting married! So Thomas and I are boarding the dogs for the weekend and we're headed to Charlotte on Friday afternoon. The wedding is Friday night in Fort Mill, SC at The Dairy Barn. Should be very nice :)
Im a little anxious about boarding the dogs.. this will be the first time that Harley has ever been boarded since we've had him. But hopefully he'll do alright. He and Wendy will get to share a double crate together. And it's at the vets office. So I guess if anything DOES go wrong, he's in good hands. What can I say.. Im just a worry bird. Im certainly gonna have to overcome it though because we'll be boarding them for a week and a half in July/August when we go to Alaska (more to come on that.. 2010 Rusher/Tinsley/Tuck Family Cruise)

That's it for now. Gonna relax a little before the little one wakes up!

BYE!

relaxing? what's that?

So I made it to Salisbury alright. Did not even stop once.. just decided to keep booking it to save time. I mean who needs bathroom breaks anyway?!

I find myself still in bed this morning.. and it's 10am :) Okay, truthfully, I've already gotten up.. made myself some coffee and scrambled eggs.. then proceeded to get BACK in bed (Don't judge me! It's Saturday!). I figured I might as well take advantage of this situation. I'm at my parents house. And everyone is working so I'm home alone. And it's extremely quiet. Therefore, good time for me to write, relax, and maybe even read a little before its time to get ready for the Baby Shower.

I feel a little guilty because I know Thomas is at home working his butt off, but then I remember that's how he chose to spend his Saturday and I don't feel quite as bad. I called him at 9 last night to let him know that I'd made it to Salisbury.. and he was telling me that he'd already cleaned the living room and dining room.. swept and moped both areas.. and cleaned out his closet and drawers. This morning (as I am still wallowing in the bed) he calls and tells me he is on his way to Home Depot to pick up a couple new light fixtures, weed and poison ivy killers, and a few other misc. things for his day. I don't know WHO this man is, but he's allowed to stay for awhile :) Only kidding. Thomas is a great husband and definitely does his fair share of work. I'm definitely excited to go home to a clean house though. That'll be a great way to start the week off.

Alright, back to wallowing. If your judging me, just refer back to "stress" posting and you'll realize after reading it, you need a nap too :)

Ta Ta for now.

Stress

JUST when you think it's gonna be a low key Friday.. things get CRAZY. I guess that's part of the job though.

The little boy I nanny for, Chase, has been quite the handful today. I don't blame him though. I would be a handful too if I had 2 molers trying to come in at the same time. He's been in quite a bit of pain this week. So we've been trying to make the best of things!
On top of this, Jen (Chases's mom) got word that a Realtor would like to show the house today. Great news for them.. just makes things difficult for us. It's hard trying to plan a house showing/clean house around a 2 year olds nap schedule. But I'd say we've become an expert at this point! And luckily Jen is here working from home to help. She's pregnant with twin boys and has been told to take it easy. So she's working from home permanently until the babies arrive. Their very excited to have 2 babies on the way.. just eager to get out of the town home due to lack of space for 2 more children. So hopefully there will be a biter soon.. but it's hard to tell with the current market situation.

After work, I'm headed straight to Salisbury! I'm excited to see my family.. I definitely don't feel like I get to see them enough. Unfortunately, Thomas is staying home this weekend. But we've come up with a hefty "honey do" list so Im sure his weekend will be everything BUT boring :). And I dont always get to visit with my family alone so it'll be nice.

Tomorrow I'm headed to Melissa Wisor's baby shower! I'm very excited to see her. I haven't seen her at all during the pregnancy, so I'm anxious to see her! Unfortunately, my Mom has to work and wont be able to go, but my sister in law, Mary, will be going with me. Should be a fun little afternoon :)

Alright, just a quick posting today. Need to get off here and get my game face on for when the Realtor arrives. And not only that, but take the dog outside and make sure they move around quietly so Chase doesn't wake up to strangers staring at him. IF all goes well, it'll be a GOOD day! And I'll certainly be ready for a drink tonight. Mom- a Margherita on the Rocks waiting for me when I arrive would be awesome :) Make it happen!

Adios!

Realization

So I definitely wouldn't consider myself to be a "blogger". I've never attempted it.. nor have I had the urge. But just recently, I decided it was time to start!
Thomas and I have enjoyed our time in GA without a doubt. However, being 4-6 hours away from everything that we're used to has also taken a tole on our relationships with family and friends. SOOOO.. drum roll please!... I decided I would just write. About anything any everything going on in our lives. That way, family and friends can see what's going on with us.. and follow along if they so desire. I wont lie.. it may be boring at times. But at least no one can say that we didn't attempt to keep our loved ones in the loop :)

So hear goes.. Day 1.
As most of you know, we bought a house recently! Its been a very exciting process. We closed on it about 2 months ago, but due to several renovations, we're just now getting everything settled. We had A LOT of painting to do.. along with replacing all carpet, tiling two bathrooms (thanks Seth and Dad), replacing a lot of hardware and bathroom fixtures, and some minimal exterior work. But things are finally coming together. Thank goodness. I'll try and post some before and after pictures up here with my next post. There is still a lot to be done, but we're pretty proud of what we've accomplished so far.

This week seems to be going smoothly so far. Thomas has been traveling about every other week due to his job promotion in sales. But he's home this week so that always makes for a smooth week :) Unfortunately, last week was everything BUT smooth. Thomas was out of town Mon-Thur and we had a sick pup. Harley, our newest family member, decided to break in the new carpet for us... more than once. Sweet of him.. I know. Anyway, many of you may know that we've had SEVERAL "digestive" problems with Harley. So I decided to take him to the vet last Friday. Granted, we don't know much about this dog since he was a stray.. but the vet has concluded that he suffers from severe anxiety. Rain storm coming? runny poop. Thomas traveling? runny poop. Trip in the car? runny poop. And keep in mind.. all three of these situations occurred last week so you can imagine how that went. Unfortunately, its just a trait that many Border Collies have. SO.. we've been given a mild sedative to give him when any of these things may be on the horizon. And hopefully we'll be able to prevent future issues. I know I know.. your ALL jealous.

Other than that, we spent our weekend hanging out with two Italian woman. Anna and Latitsia. For those of you that don't know, Thomas works for a company that is based out of Italy. So.. these two woman are in town for a month to train the company on a new computer program. And not only that, but its their first trip to the US. So we agreed to take them shopping on Saturday (which they thoroughly enjoyed) and have them over for dinner. It was pretty eye opening.. to say the least. Italians live a much different lifestyle than we do. Everything is in much smaller scale (houses, cars, PEOPLE). So you can imagine their reactions. They snapped several pictures of our house before even ringing the door bell :) We had a great time though. It was great learning about their culture and teaching them a few things about us also. And maybe we'll have some new friends to stay with if we DO ever make it to Italy.

Time to go! Most of you know that I'm a nanny.. so my "blogging" time will probably be when sweet little Chase is napping (more stories on him to come). And its about time to wake him up so I need to run!

Lots of love!
