Realization

So I definitely wouldn't consider myself to be a "blogger". I've never attempted it.. nor have I had the urge. But just recently, I decided it was time to start!
Thomas and I have enjoyed our time in GA without a doubt. However, being 4-6 hours away from everything that we're used to has also taken a tole on our relationships with family and friends. SOOOO.. drum roll please!... I decided I would just write. About anything any everything going on in our lives. That way, family and friends can see what's going on with us.. and follow along if they so desire. I wont lie.. it may be boring at times. But at least no one can say that we didn't attempt to keep our loved ones in the loop :)

So hear goes.. Day 1.
As most of you know, we bought a house recently! Its been a very exciting process. We closed on it about 2 months ago, but due to several renovations, we're just now getting everything settled. We had A LOT of painting to do.. along with replacing all carpet, tiling two bathrooms (thanks Seth and Dad), replacing a lot of hardware and bathroom fixtures, and some minimal exterior work. But things are finally coming together. Thank goodness. I'll try and post some before and after pictures up here with my next post. There is still a lot to be done, but we're pretty proud of what we've accomplished so far.

This week seems to be going smoothly so far. Thomas has been traveling about every other week due to his job promotion in sales. But he's home this week so that always makes for a smooth week :) Unfortunately, last week was everything BUT smooth. Thomas was out of town Mon-Thur and we had a sick pup. Harley, our newest family member, decided to break in the new carpet for us... more than once. Sweet of him.. I know. Anyway, many of you may know that we've had SEVERAL "digestive" problems with Harley. So I decided to take him to the vet last Friday. Granted, we don't know much about this dog since he was a stray.. but the vet has concluded that he suffers from severe anxiety. Rain storm coming? runny poop. Thomas traveling? runny poop. Trip in the car? runny poop. And keep in mind.. all three of these situations occurred last week so you can imagine how that went. Unfortunately, its just a trait that many Border Collies have. SO.. we've been given a mild sedative to give him when any of these things may be on the horizon. And hopefully we'll be able to prevent future issues. I know I know.. your ALL jealous.

Other than that, we spent our weekend hanging out with two Italian woman. Anna and Latitsia. For those of you that don't know, Thomas works for a company that is based out of Italy. So.. these two woman are in town for a month to train the company on a new computer program. And not only that, but its their first trip to the US. So we agreed to take them shopping on Saturday (which they thoroughly enjoyed) and have them over for dinner. It was pretty eye opening.. to say the least. Italians live a much different lifestyle than we do. Everything is in much smaller scale (houses, cars, PEOPLE). So you can imagine their reactions. They snapped several pictures of our house before even ringing the door bell :) We had a great time though. It was great learning about their culture and teaching them a few things about us also. And maybe we'll have some new friends to stay with if we DO ever make it to Italy.

Time to go! Most of you know that I'm a nanny.. so my "blogging" time will probably be when sweet little Chase is napping (more stories on him to come). And its about time to wake him up so I need to run!

Lots of love!
